About Us
Joanne and Gary have been happily together and married for over 20 years. They are the proud parents of two boys, that grew up within this caring Family day care environment. Jett and Ashe attend high school after both graduating from their local primary school. Joanne and Gary continue this link to the local primary school, being heavily involved with the school and sports communities. Jett and Ashe are keen soccer players and love sharing their skills with all the little Larrikins.
Together Joanne and Gary operate their own home-based Family Day Care businesses ‘Jo’s Rainbow Larrikins’ and Gary’s Rainbow Larrikins, out of their own property in Pacific Paradise. Joanne and Gary work side by side using both sides of their duplex pair. This is a very unique, purpose designed, environment for Family Day Care offering children both male and female care and guidance. Gary and Joanne intend to provide a safe and nurturing experience, resulting in a trusting environment for all the little ‘Larrikins’ who become a part of the Rainbow Larrikin Family.

Teaching Principles
Rainbow Larrikins believe that PLAY is the basis for learning. When children are trusted to lead their learning, that learning is MEANINGFUL and JOYFUL.
All who attend Rainbow Larrikins will enjoy exploring and learning through child centred and directed play.
Gary and Jo provide a safe, well supervised environment for children to explore, play and exceed.
Our activities are designed to enrich children's awareness of the environment and provide a sense of connection to the natural world, and how to live healthy lives.
We believe in having open communication with families, respecting their rights and opinions on what is best for their child. We encourage family involvement and feedback into the development and delivery of our educational programs
Children have an inborn capacity to make healthful choices about how they want to move and learn. At Rainbow Larrikins, they find safe, spaces in which they can move and explore freely. Their use of objects and play materials should not be restricted, governed, or overly interfered with.
